Retrofitting Services

Performance You Can Count On—Because We Do the Work.

You are here:

Retrofitting aging infrastructure is more complex than building from scratch. It requires extending the useful life of critical facilities while navigating the constraints of existing footprints and active operations. º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½. modernizes treatment plants and pump stations—like the City of Paso Robles Wastewater Treatment Plant and Visalia Water Conservation Plant—upgrading capacity and technology without the massive cost and disruption of total replacement.

How We Deliver Value

The biggest risks in retrofitting are the “unknowns”—inaccurate as-builts and the challenge of keeping the facility running. We deliver value by planning for these realities upfront.

For the Northwest Bakersfield Water Treatment Plant, we successfully increased net capacity to 8 MGD on a highly congested site, installing new pretreatment systems ahead of membrane filters while maintaining plant output. We turn aging assets into modern, compliant facilities ready for the next generation of service.

We consistently save our clients time and money through…

Navigating Unknown Conditions

Decades-old infrastructure rarely matches the record drawings. We approach retrofits with a forensic mindset, verifying existing conditions, dimensions, and structural integrity before fabrication begins.

Maintaining Plant Operations (MOPO)

In water and wastewater infrastructure, “shutdown” is rarely an option. We engineer complex bypass systems, temporary power solutions, and phased construction schedules that allow your facility to operate at required capacity throughout the project.

Seismic and Regulatory Compliance

Retrofitting is often driven by new mandates. We help agencies meet evolving standards, just as we did for the City of Bakersfield TCP Mitigation Project.

Facing a new state maximum contaminant level for 1,2,3-Trichloropropane, we executed a fast-track retrofit of 34 well sites with Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) vessels, bringing the entire system into compliance ahead of regulatory deadlines.

Safety in Live Environments

Working inside an active facility introduces hazards that don’t exist on greenfield sites. Whether upgrading the Orange County Sanitation District’s Plant No. 1 for sludge dewatering or installing biogas systems at Rialto, our crews are trained to work safely around live electrical gear, pressurized lines, and hazardous gases.

Extending Infrastructure Life

º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½. brings decades of experience to the unique challenges of retrofitting California’s water and infrastructure. We understand that a successful retrofit isn’t just about installing new equipment; it’s about revitalizing an asset so it performs like new.
